Collections Care Advice can be provided on the appropriate storage, care and display of costume or flat textiles, whether it is a treasured family heirloom in need of some special care, or a whole collection.
Conservation A condition assessment can be made and advice given on whether an item requires attention from a specialist textile conservator.
Collection development Assessment can be made as to the parameters of a collection, where it might need development to fulfill the mission of the museum, and establishing collecting guidelines to focus on what story the collection needs to tell, and what gaps need to be filled. Exhibits Research and design for exhibit text and display can be provided, along with practical demonstrations of appropriate display methods for both flat textile fragments and clothing, including selecting conservation grade support materials and creating the correct silhouette for garments whilst ensuring good support for the object.
